The Wakefield Covered Bridge (AKA the Gendron Covered Bridge) in Wakefield, Québec was originally built in 1914 and was one of the first bridges to link the two shores of the Gatineau River. It stood stood for 70 years, until it was burned by a fire in 1984. A major mobilization in the community resulted in the building of a new bridge, which was inaugurated in 1997.
